The new Quad Core i5 processor from Intel is likely to work 28 percent faster, enabling users to multitask more. Based on 45 nanometer technology, the processor runs at 2.66 Ghz. It consumes just 85 Watts power when idle and 170 W on full load. Compared to earlier Intel processors, the Core i5 is capable of up to 37 percent faster conversion of video for Web upload, 15 percent faster photo editing, and up to 17 percent faster conversion of CD music tracks to MP 3.
